This was originally "trouper," referring to a member of an acting troupe -- the troupe was living a marginal existence, so it was very important that the show did go on, and you were a good trouper if you put the company first. "Trooper" would make perfect sense for this, of course, and "trouper" is getting pushed out -- it's just the way languages evolve. Similarly, sure, "free reign" does makes sense for this, but the original expression referred to horses.

About "hone in" instead of "home in," well ... I guess I mind it because they're not actually homophones, so it sounds a little tone deaf.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-434879494642797092.post-68356297428766901942019-05-04T23:47:17.792-04:002019-05-04T23:47:17.792-04:00I am 29 years old and I was diagnosis of Breast ca...I am 29 years old and I was diagnosis of Breast cancer, easy well and have a similar story except my first acceptance as a Herbal medicine denials. Isn't it possible that Hercules is more vulnerable to nagging than Superman? Maybe in the Lois-Superman combat you imagine, Superman would be able to ignore her long enough to incinerate her with his heat vision.Isaachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06529618611083147320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-434879494642797092.post-34725901720748299212011-03-29T15:46:03.547-04:002011-03-29T15:46:03.547-04:00Dear Dr. K,
