I had no idea about the bondage - my first encounter with the Blackhawks was in the paperback novel from the early 80s. I had always assumed, even since the age of 10 or so when I picked it up at the supermarket, that the bondage was just something icky/weird Rotsler, the author, came up with by himself. Interesting to see he didn't.
